x-files-GCHappy 2015 folks! As an added bonus, enjoy this Mulder & Scully kiss from 15 years ago (Season 7, “Millennium”).

I am so happy that 2015 is here. It’s the start of a new year, which welcomes new opportunities, new experiences, and new movies, television shows, music, and other forms of entertainment media to fall in love with. I am especially excited that 2015 is upon us because I’ve got a few cool things happening in Real Life, and I’m also hoping to make a return trip back up to to Fan Expo Canada in Toronto this August, with a visit to Denver Comic Con in June too (a short six-hour drive from my homebase).

** I totally got distracted for a minute because I’m watching Law and Order: SVU and in this fifth season episode, titled “Loss,” features everyone’s favorite FBI Assistant Director, The X-Files’ Walter Skinner (aka actor Mitch Pileggi). One of my favorite episodes. Also, if you ‘ship Alex Cabot and Olivia Benson, then this is one of their major suntexty episodes.

A new year also means another year of people making resolutions that 90% of the time they will fail to keep within the first few days or week of making them. Losing weight, quitting smoking, trying to listen to better music… I tried to go for realistic resolutions that I knew I could probably fulfill unless something throws me off course. For this new year, 90% of my resolutions involve writing and this blog. Here’s a few of my blogging resolutions that I will keep (or make a kickass attempt at) for 2015:

  • Write at least 200 blog posts this year; my current total is 80, counting this post. I’m aware that my output is low, but I will change that.
  • Add more original content. I want to feature indie creators and other creative types and feature their work here, and include some samples of my own creative output. I have an exciting partnership coming up that I will share here. I’m hoping you guys will enjoy this reveal as much as I will have showcasing it.
  • Finalize an official logo for the site. In the header (the rocket ships and planets) is a rough concept of the logo I’ve been working on. I hope to have it completely done and ready to reveal here within the next week.

As you’ve might’ve also noticed, I have changed the name of this blog. It is no longer A Voyage into the Quirky, Offbeat, and Geeky (quite a mouthful to write and say). It has now been shortened to the equally quirky and easy-to-say Geeky Voyage. The logo is an idea I’ve been kicking around for a few months now, and the lovely pictures that complete the header are some of the pictures that I took while I was up at Fan Expo Canada 2013. Wow – it’s been almost two years since I attended that?

I wish all of you a very wonderful, amazing, extraordinary and fantastic 2015, and I hope you will dig all of the upcoming content that will be hitting this blog all this year. To 2015 being a hell of a better year than 2014!
